Location : Remote – Must be willing to work EST hours

We are looking for a Power BI Developer with deep technical expertise and strong industry experience to join our team and help drive impactful business insights through best‑in‑class data visualization and reporting solutions.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a seasoned Business Data Analyst - Power BI who brings technical mastery and strategic insight to deliver cutting‑edge reporting solutions across the insurance value chain. The ideal candidate is an expert in Power BI , SQL , DAX , M Query , and TMDL , with a robust understanding of Snowflake .

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain high‑performance Power BI reports and datasets with a focus on scalability, cleanliness, and usability.
  • Use SQL , DAX , and M Query to perform complex data modeling, transformation, and analysis.
  • Leverage Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL) to programmatically manage and version tabular models.
  • Integrate AI capabilities in Power BI (e.g., AI visuals, smart narratives, external AI services) to enhance insights and storytelling.
  • Design and manage Snowflake views and dynamic tables to support enterprise data warehousing practices.
  • Apply advanced data analytics and critical thinking to derive meaningful insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Build complex visualizations and trend analyses aligned with strategic and operational decision‑making in the insurance domain.
  • Perform advanced Excel‑based analysis including VLOOKUP , pivot tables , and related functions.
  • Utilize tools such as Measure Killer to streamline and optimize DAX measures across reports.
  • Apply Power BI best practices including parameters, aggregations, data grouping, and data dictionary development for consistent reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insightful, user‑friendly solutions.
  • Enforce disciplined dataset governance to ensure data security , documentation , and compliance with organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on Power BI development experience.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in SQL , DAX , and M Query .
  • Hands‑on experience with TMDL for tabular model management.
  • Experience integrating AI features within Power BI.
  • Advanced Snowflake skills for managing views and dynamic tables.
  • Strong analytics capabilities and business acumen.
  • Skilled in Excel, with a solid command of advanced functions and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with tools like Measure Killer to improve report performance and maintainability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Detail‑oriented and disciplined in data governance practices.
