CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the services of a COST ACCOUNTANT at their plant in the NORTH WEST as soon as possible

POSITION INFO :

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

BCom DegreeUp to 10 years'' experience at a mine site or quarryTechnical aptitude to spot discrepancies with machine diesel usage

SKILLS :

• Computer literate (MS Packages, advanced Excel)
• Appropriate experience in cost and management accounting.
• Financial analysis aptitude and ability to provide quality recommendations and solutions.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Control operational costsOversee Diesel and Weighbridge reportsEnsure adequate governance and system related controls exist that will allow for the preparation of a valid & complete budget and forecast submissionAnalyse and provide commentary on variances between forecast, actuals and budget and make recommendations where necessaryReview final commercial cost close-out and submit accurate billing requirements timeouslyPrepare monthly management cost reports and advise on appropriate interventionsAnalyse cost variances, prepare performance reporting commentary and financial presentations
