REQUIREMENTS :

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications will be advantageous
  • Forklift license (preferred or ability to manage license process)
  • Valid drivers license and own transport
  • 35 years experience in a similar role
  • 35 years experience in a managerial position
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete work within established timeframes
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to innovation by continuously identifying opportunities to streamline warehouse operations and implement smart, cost-effective solutions.

DUTIES :

Operations Coordination :

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, moving, and organizing inventory.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse layout and workflows to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Leadership :

  • Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Allocate tasks to ensure coverage and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and development plans.
  • Morning warehouse meetings.
  • Warehouse Optimization :

  • Design and maintain an optimized warehouse layout to maximize the use of available floor space.
  • Regularly review and adjust storage configurations to accommodate changing inventory volumes.
  • Efficient Stock Inspection Upon Receipt :

  • Ensure all incoming stock is thoroughly inspected upon arrival for faults, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Liaise promptly with procurement, R&D, services, and other relevant departments to resolve issues and sort affected products.
  • Minimize idle time of damaged or unsorted stock to prevent clutter and maintain workflow continuity.
  • Quality Control :

  • Inspect cabinets internally ensuring grid sets are installed and minimum temperature is reached.
  • Apply company stickers and perform quality checks on cabinets ("nail damage")
  • Ensure cabinets are stored properly and documented.
  • General Housekeeping & Waste Reduction :

  • Monitor and report on inventory that remains stationary for extended periods.
  • Develop and enforce procedures to reallocate, return, or dispose of stagnant inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order to prevent product degradation and improve safety.
  • Vehicles :

  • Oversee the use and condition of all company vehicles, including forklifts.
  • Ensure vehicles are serviced regularly and maintain an up-to-date vehicle service log.
  • Manage and report vehicle accidents or incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up with relevant departments or insurers.
  • Forklift Licensing :

  • Schedule and organize forklift license renewals for all applicable staff.
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of forklift certifications and ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements
  • Coordinate training sessions and refresher courses as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance :

  • Enforce health and safety regulations across all warehouse operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all staff comply with safety protocols.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.

  • Monday to Friday : 08 : 00 17 : 00
