We cultivate an inclusive community of learners so that we empower global citizens to fulfill their future purpose.Position OverviewThe Audio-visual technician is responsible to run the sound, mixer and live streaming for live events. The Audio-Video Technician is also required to cut and edit the video from different video sources for a final post-production recording. Work with students in the recording studio. He / She will also be required to record meetings and presentations with video cameras, and maintenance and repair equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, lighting, and sound mixing equipment as video recorders. The Audio-visual technician is responsible to coordinate the content and scheduling of the school’s various display screens for Digital Signage, coordinating graphics used in displays, and providing technical support for teleconferences. Coordinate all audio-visual events outside the theater which include being responsible for the setting up, operating, and coordinating of the event / s. The Audio-Visual technician will also be expected to assist in the theater when the requirement is necessary. To oversee the general maintenance and ensure daily operations of classroom audio and video equipment are in functional order, which includes but are not limited to projectors, classroom speakers, and TV’s. He / she will perform related additional duties as required and assigned and assist the needs of users and volunteers under the direction of the Technology Manager.QUALIFICATIONS : MatricQualification in sound and lightingCoursework or training in professional AV operations, sound setups, or a related field.COMPETENCIES : Preferred Skills and Experience3 or more years of experience in a related field.Ability to test audio equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.Principles, methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in technical operations.Operational characteristics and techniques used in, sound, rigging equipment, and live stream.Operations, services, and activities of technical operations for live stream and A / V programs.Experience using post-production software for video and sound editing.Experience using various digital signage solutions.Experience with Live streaming technologies like Black Magic or Tricaster is advantageous.Experience with sound mixers and P.A systems.Experience with the basic signal flow for audio control.Basic principles of operational characteristics of computer hardware and software.Primary Responsibilities : Oversee operation and quality of classroom AV technology to ensure equipment is in good condition.Run A / V, Live stream equipment using multiple cameras.Oversee the school’s digital signage solution.Use software like Adobe Premiere and Sound booth to put together post-production videos.Upload Videos of events online for the community.Evaluate equipment needs and notify IT Manager of the need to repair or replace as well as contacting relevant service providers to complete repairs.Plan, organize and implement the maintenance and operation of performance-related equipment at the various venues, including lights and lighting consoles, sound equipment, video projector, cameras, microphones, sound consoles, speakers, special effects equipment, rigging system, IT equipment, live streaming and other technical systems used during events, rehearsals, performances, and academic assessments.Program and run sound equipment, lighting equipment, video projector, IT equipment, rigging controls, and other technical systems during performances and productions.Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production equipment, monitor scene shop workspace, and the security of all equipment.Setup of equipment, including AV equipment, P.A systems.Utilize proper safety practices and procedures in line with A / V equipment, and ensure all people understand safety.Maintain a variety of files and records of equipment and manuals in conjunction with the Technology department.Ensure that sufficient spares are stocked to maintain or replace equipment for which responsibility is held, including consumables.Be on-site to assist in performances and deal with technical emergencies or issues as required this may include after hours.Operate and support theatre sound mixing desk when required.Operate and support theatre lighting desk when required.Perform other related duties pertaining to the theater as requested.Perform other related duties as requested by the IT manager.Attributes : Friendly and personable demeanor.Able to work on his / her own initiative and to solve problems.Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.Ability to collaborate with I.T team to maintain standards and SLA’s.Great attention to detail.Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.Self-starter and self-motivator.Ability to take ownership and responsibility.Possess the drive to learn and is adaptable to change / new technologies.Ability to critically analyze a symptom, diagnose a fault, plan, and take appropriate action.Ability to work under extreme pressure.Willing to work overtime when and if needed.Ability to participate in and establish collaborative working relationships.School HoursThis is a 45-hour-per-week position, and the start time is 7 : 30.Application ProcessIn order to complete the AISJ application process, complete the electronic form.
