As a Fitter, you will be responsible for :
Fit, assemble, grind and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain production machines and other equipment. Install, test, connect, commission, and modify mechanical equipmentPerform plant maintenance and remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders, and planned schedules, including during shuts. Complete notifications and work orders on the SAP systemDo fault-finding on systems during breakdowns and repair the problem to keep downtime to a minimum. Participate in failure analysisComplete daily and weekly inspections on equipment according to a detailed checklistPerforms any other assigned tasks that fall within the scope of a FitterUnderstand and comply with the safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the SectionParticipate in the investigation of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance. Correct any deviations that relate to mechanical maintenanceMaintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all timesRequired to work standby and overtime as requiredMust be willing to work at heightWhat are we looking for?
Grade 12 and N2 Engineering while N3 Engineering would be preferredRecognised Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment will be advantageousEngineering / Technical jobs
