Overview

Our client, a trusted supplier of solar panels, inverters, and batteries for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Solar Sales Representative to join their team in Midrand, Johannesburg.

This role will focus on driving sales growth in the residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar energy markets. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of solar products and technologies, a proven record in achieving sales targets, and a passion for renewable energy. You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and closing high-value deals in a fast-paced and competitive market.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed sales and lead generation targets.
  • Develop new business opportunities within the residential and C&I solar sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with installers, developers, and distributors.
  • Present tailored solar energy solutions and product offerings to prospective customers.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and deliver accurate sales forecasting.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of solar products, including panels, inverters, and battery systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current on solar market trends, competitor activity, and technology advancements.
  • Maintain accurate records using CRM software and other sales tracking tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' sales experience in the solar energy industry, with exposure to residential and / or C&I markets.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy products, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and close sales in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other digital sales tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid driver\'s licence and own transport essential.
  • Highly motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently or within a team.
