Job Purpose
To control material within the Material Control area by packaging and moving timeously, ensuring that all documentation is correct and applicable.
To move material and components to and from workshops and to the aircraft.
Ensure that the material and components are packed correctly and moved with the correct support equipment.
Check that material and components are accompanied with correct documentation and are registered for monitoring and updating of reports.
Principal Accountabilities
- Supervise subordinates to ensure the smooth operation of aircraft checks.
- Ensure the movement of spares through the repair cycle that all milestones are met and problems are highlighted to the Chief Planner.
- Coordinate the supply of unavailable spares, monitoring and updating of robbed spares list.
- Liaise with other departments with respect to queries, relaying solution back to maintenance staff.
- Control, monitor and record all task cards that are forwarded with components and material to different workshops.
- Follow up the progress of these items and monitor the due dates as per the flow chart.
- Highlight any problems beforehand to Chief Planner.
- Check, update and ensure that all progress reports, graphs and information supplied to all departments and management is correct.
- Ensure system updates.
- Close checks and verify that all documentation has been received as per lead sheet and that all task cards are accounted for.
- Check that all aircraft documentation is correctly signed off.
- Ensure that all flight logbooks are current with the relevant documentation and airframe hours are updated during aircraft check.
- Ensure that all task cards and unscheduled work carried forward has the correct documentation with it and the correct procedure was followed.
- Check that the correct work packs are received for the day-to-day aircraft checks as dictated by the aircraft schedule.
- Ensure aircraft fumigation, landing gear / wing cavity wash, deep clean, defueling is actioned as per the aircraft plan.
- Ensure current revision of all documentation in use in area.
- Assist Chief Planner in building flowchart for work to be carried out before aircraft arrives.
- Perform the completing of all relevant documentation for aircraft test flights.
- Notify relevant departments and make the required arrangements as supplied by Chief Planner.
