Head : Communication – Momentum
Momentum, a leading financial services provider since 1966, seeks a Head of Communication to lead and manage all internal and external communication and marketing programmes for Momentum Distribution Services (MDS). The role focuses on creating effective, efficient business communication that supports MDS sales and partnership activities.
Role Purpose
The Communications Manager creates and manages all internal and external communication and marketing programmes that facilitate creative, effective, and efficient business communication for Momentum Distribution Services (MDS). The role ensures cohesive messaging and brand consistency across all communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and manage content that markets Momentum’s products and services to internal & external audiences (campaigns, website, blog, articles, brand collateral, email, social media, events).
- Develop material for staff (newsletters, app messages, PowerPoint presentations).
- Explore, use, and optimise new communication methods and platforms.
- Plan and monitor content for intranet and website.
- Deliver presentations and support marketing projects within deadline and budget.
- Review and proofread marketing collateral for accuracy, style, brand standards and compliance.
- Propose creative communication mixes that drive engagement.
- Identify opportunities and risks, develop appropriate communications, and mitigate them.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to foster collaboration.
- Lead a positive work culture, motivate staff, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Plan and execute internal communication campaigns and plans, ensuring alignment with departmental and company goals.
- Manage relationships with external service providers and monitor KPIs and reporting.

Qualifications
Degree in Business Communication, Marketing or Public Relations.Preferable : Degree / Honours in Communications and / or Marketing.Experience
3‑5 years of marketing or communication strategy and management within the South African financial services industry (experience in MDS is an advantage).Strong knowledge of graphic design, social media, PR, marketing, print and electronic media.Excellent command of Word, PowerPoint and Excel; MS Project is advantageous. RPL may be considered.Seniority Level
