Overview

We are looking for a confident and professional Remote Digital News Anchor to deliver engaging news updates for our online platform. This is a remote role, making it ideal for students or individuals who are looking for flexible opportunities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience presenting news, a strong on-camera presence, and an understanding of how news is consumed on social media. While the primary focus is news presentation, candidates must understand social media content formats and possess basic equipment to record professional-looking videos.

Responsibilities

  • Present news updates, interviews, and special reports in a clear and engaging manner from a remote setup.
  • Research and prepare news scripts, ensuring accuracy and credibility.
  • Record and deliver news content optimized for digital and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team virtually to align on coverage priorities and story angles.
  • Stay informed about social media trends to understand the style and tone that resonate with online audiences.
  • Ensure all reporting maintains journalistic ethics and accuracy standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a news anchor, journalist, or broadcast presenter (student projects or campus media experience is acceptable).
  • Strong on-camera presence and excellent communication skills.
  • Good understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook) and how news content performs on each.
  • Access to basic equipment for remote recording (smartphone with good camera or DSLR, microphone, proper lighting).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong research and fact-checking skills.

  • Degree (or ongoing studies) in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field.
