Overview

Senior Digital Lead role at Wasserman. Purpose of role : To deliver the digital strategy, product development, and technology roadmap for the sports rights holder, ensuring that digital platforms serve both fan and commercial partner needs. This individual will sit at the intersection of technology, business, and partnerships — driving innovation while translating complex ideas into clear, actionable insights for relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and optimise SA Rugby’s digital products (e.g. website, fan data platforms, CRM, e-commerce).
• Manage technical delivery teams and third-party suppliers (agencies, developers, tech suppliers, etc.).
• Ensure robust data governance, privacy compliance (e.g. POPIA, GDPR), and cybersecurity.
• Act as the key digital interface and driver for commercial partners, sponsors, internal teams and wider business stakeholders.
• Support the Wasserman commercial team by advising on how digital assets and platforms can be packaged, measured, and monetised in partner conversations.
• Work closely with SARU marketing, content, commercial, ticketing, and media teams to ensure digital strategy aligns with broader business goals.
• Champion innovation around fan engagement, data personalisation, digital membership, loyalty, gamification, and immersive content experiences.
