Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and professional Operations Manager to join our team at Story Cape Town , a leading sneaker and streetwear consignment marketplace. This role requires someone with strong critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage both day-to-day store operations and long-term organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Store Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of store opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to company standards.
  • Manage store replenishment , ensuring shelves and displays remain fully stocked and visually appealing.
  • Supervise the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the store at all times.

Staff Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate sales associates to deliver exceptional service and meet performance expectations.
  • Create weekly schedules and ensure appropriate staff coverage for both peak and off-peak trading hours.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.

    • Customer Service

  • Deliver excellent in-store and online customer service , ensuring all customer queries, complaints, and returns are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Uphold and communicate the brand’s standards of authenticity, professionalism, and premium service.

    • Stock Room & Inventory Management

  • Maintain an organized and efficient stock room , with clear labeling and storage systems.
  • Oversee inventory management , dedicating 15 hours per week to stock checks, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Work closely with the intake and consignment team to ensure accurate records in Airtable and spreadsheets .

    • Business Support

  • Assist senior management in implementing operational improvements and problem-solving on the spot.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between sales, consignment intake, and customer support.
