Salary : Competitive, aligned with industry standards - UP TO R350 000 P / A

Languages Required : Fluent in English and Afrikaans

Experience Required : Minimum 5 years in a similar role within the same International Freight and Logistics Industry

Education : Degree or Diploma in Logistics

Job Description

Our professional International Clientis seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing import operations, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management. This role requires excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, and a deep understanding of industry practices, particularly those employed by past Logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Import Operations : Oversee the entire import process, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders : Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and efficient import operations.
  • Compliance : Ensure all import activities comply with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Cost Management : Monitor and control costs associated with import activities.
  • Problem Solving : Address and resolve any issues that arise during the import process.
  • Reporting : Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on import activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years in an import controller role with a competitor.
  • Education : Degree or Diploma in Logistics.
  • Languages : Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
  • Skills : Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
