Job Description
Reporting into the Planning Manager, the role of the Senior Planner is to strategically lead and roll-up the planning function of a specific merchandise team, including the categories within, in order to maintain planning disciplines and to ensure that the right levels of stock get to the right stores at the right time, whilst remaining aligned with the overall business key strategic objectives.Responsibilities
Senior Planners lead the development and implementation of strategy and play a pivotal role in fostering alignment, ensuring cohesive planning and delivering results of those key outcomes.In this role partnership is imperative for success as you and your counterpart Senior Buyer will be required to work collaboratively and cohesively with support teams and cross functionally to delight our customer.A key element of this role is to provide coaching to planning associates in your team, ensuring performance standards are met and that associates are developed to drive our philosophy of “home grown talent”.Qualifications
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements :
Relevant degree or diploma (BSc or BCom majoring in Economics, Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, Retail Business Management or Statistics).5 - 7 years merchandise planning experience in retail with a proven track record. (Homeware experience is advantageous).At least 2 years’ experience as a team leader / managerMSOffice proficient (including intermediate to advanced Excel)Knowledge of merchandise systems / applicationsKey knowledge includes Finance & Business Acumen, Stock Flow Management, Sales Forecasting, Analysis, Planning KPIs and the Value-Chain.Strong verbal and written communication skillsDriver’s license (advantageous)Desirable attributes for success in this role :
