Overview

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa is a dynamic and fast-growing BPO company based in South Africa, specializing in providing top-tier operational support to U.S.-based companies. We are not a recruitment agency — we are a dedicated extension of our clients\' teams, delivering high-quality service with precision, efficiency, and a personal touch.

We are hiring a perceptive and proactive Patient Communications Coordinator with experience in the U.S. healthcare industry preferred. This fully remote role requires working Sunday to Thursday, 9am - 6pm EST (3pm - midnight SA Time).

Responsibilities

  • Send out messages and reminders to patients
  • Read and tweak AI-generated messages before they are sent to ensure they sound right
  • Help create and update support documents and information that go out to patients
  • Assist with more complicated questions by gathering the right information and passing it to the appropriate people
  • Collaborate with the team to sort different types of messages and improve processes
  • Work with data and systems to organize information for reports and evidence gathering

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in the U.S. healthcare industry preferred (experience with EHR systems or healthcare administration preferred)
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to conduct sensitive and nuanced conversations professionally
  • Empathetic nature
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word; no advanced Excel required)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Familiarity with navigating databases and digital communication tools
  • Reliable internet and power backup solution as outlined above

    Logistics and Environment

  • Working Hours : Sunday to Thursday, 9am - 6pm EST (this equates to 15 : 00 to midnight South Africa time, subject to change with daylight savings)
  • Work Environment : Fully remote role based in South Africa
  • Internet Requirements : Fixed fibre with minimum 25 Mbps upload / download; wired Ethernet connection
  • Power Backup : Reliable power backup is required to manage load shedding and outages
