Marketing & Communications Officer (W1069) - Cape Town *Degree or Diploma in Marketing and 5 years’ experience in a similar role *Location:Claremont, Cape TownDescription:A commercial laboratory is seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join their team and be part of a collaborative and innovative environment where your skills and expertise will make a real impact. The duties will include, but are not limited to, Content Creation for Direct Marketing and Social Media; Advertising & Campaign Support, including conducting market research and assisting in the development of audience targeting strategies, as well as monitoring campaign performance and generating reports to analyse effectiveness; Website & SEO Assistance, including assisting with basic website updates, content optimization, and blog management, as well as supporting SEO initiatives; Creative & Branding Projects, including collaborating with the creative team on multimedia content; Analytics & Reporting, including assisting with gathering and analysing data from digital platforms to assess the performance of campaigns and preparing reports and presentations for internal teams; Events Planning, including research and advisement relevancy on industry-related events, collaborative conceptualization of event set-ups, and logistics of event from conception to completion; and Administrative Support, including updating and maintaining the marketing department’s documentation and databases, ad-hoc duties as determined by the Commercial Manager, and photo asses and stock control management.Key Requirements:A 3-year Degree or Diploma in Marketing, 5 years’ experience in a similar role, and a deep understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices are required. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should have a passion for marketing data analysis, content creation, and the future of AI in a marketing context. Strong writing and editing skills, with impeccable grammar and attention to detail; knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimisation techniques; a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace; and familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems is desired.
