Engineering Manager - Build and Release Infrastructure
Location : Remote (EMEA region). Candidates will be located within the EMEA region.
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives across cloud, data science, AI, engineering, and IoT. We are hiring an Engineering Manager to shape the Future of Open-Source Development with Launchpad and help drive the evolution of a critical development platform used by Ubuntu and other open-source projects.
Responsibilities
- Grow a high-performing engineering team in your region, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Coach, mentor, and provide hands-on career development opportunities to engineers.
- Apply sound engineering principles to solve complex challenges and contribute to your team\'s technical goals.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across teams, management, and external partners to drive alignment.
- Spearhead continuous development of Launchpad and its role as the backbone for software like Ubuntu.
- Lead ongoing development of Launchpad infrastructure powering mission-critical applications.
- Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and engineering / organizational practices.
- Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work environment aligned with company values.
- Collaborate with the broader leadership team to shape the direction of engineering efforts.
- Balance autonomous remote work with engagement with global teams, including up to 6 weeks per year of international travel for key events.
