Overview

Outsized is seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to join a leading insurance project on an initial 4-month contract with a strong possibility of converting to permanent based on mutual fit . The consultant will play a key role in the successful deployment and ongoing maintenance of complex systems.

The successful candidate will take ownership of system configuration and integration, ensuring seamless operations. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Product Designer / Manager : Create and update insurance products, including covers, underwriting, clauses, and product definition parameters.
  • Security Manager : Create roles and privileges, assign / remove user access, and define organizational hierarchies.
  • Workflow Builder : Create and update manual actions, events, tasks, queues, and escalation levels; define workflows by attaching relevant events and document correspondences.
  • Document Manager & Sapiens Docs (MS Word Plugin) : Define / update document types, create templates, and manage data dictionary tags.
  • Settings & Utility Wizards : Configure payment plans, GL codes, mappings, and dunning steps.
  • Loss Event & Litigation Setup : Manage damage codes, reserves, payment templates, and agenda setup.
  • Reference Table Management : Add / update master table values and bulk upload data.
  • Rule Editor : Define / update business rules using data dictionaries and coefficients.
  • System Parameters : Adjust product version and application parameters.
  • Additional Responsibilities :
  • Collaborate with BAs and maintain setup workbooks.
  • Perform unit testing before handover.
  • Use IDIT Promotion Manager to manage and commit promotions.
  • Support release processes and CI pipelines.
  • Analyze and resolve setup-related defects.

Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Insurance-related field.
  • Experience : 3–6 years in insurance technology implementation or systems integration.
  • Systems : Experience with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Tial, Sapiens, or similar policy administration systems.
  • Technical Skills : Familiarity with REST / SOAP APIs, SQL, XML / JSON.
  • Insurance Knowledge : Strong understanding of short-term insurance products (motor, property, liability, commercial lines).
  • Compliance Knowledge : Awareness of FSCA, POPIA, and insurance compliance frameworks.
  • Other Skills : Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; Ability to match customer requirements with system functionalities; Self-starter, adaptable, and team player.
