Quantity Surveyor : Developments (Stellenbosch)

ENVIRONMENT :

A growing dynamic Investment and Commercial Property Management Firm seeks the technical expertise of a Quantity Surveyor to join its team. You will accurately and timeously undertake quantity measures to perform cost estimates, help compile budgets, produce monthly Valuations / Certifications while assisting the Site Management teams by the provision of construction activity programs. The successful incumbent must possess a suitable Quantity Surveying-related tertiary qualification – minimum ND Building / QS, have 2-4 years post-qualification work experience with a solid understanding of construction drawings ensuring logical sequencing of construction activities. You will also need a strong command of the JBCC contract law, be knowledgeable of the Standard System of Measuring Building Work & be able to read, comprehend construction working drawings and utilise drawings to extract quantities accurately.

DUTIES :

Construction Projects -

• Accurately and timeously undertake quantity measures to perform cost estimates.
• Manage and achieve maximum cost effectiveness of the building work by proactive involvement in Subcontractor control and budget management.
• Assist the Site Management teams by the provision of construction activity programs.
• Certification and assessment of Subcontractors invoices / claims and process for payment.
• Liaise and assist the Accounts Department in compiling budget.
• Produce monthly Valuations / Certifications.
• Prepare monthly cost report where cost versus allowable can be scrutinised.
