Job Purpose
The Basement Attendant is in charge of maintaining the cleanliness safety and hygiene of the car basement / parking area by performing cleaning duties ensuring a neat and well-maintained environment for vehicles and residents / tenants.
In addition to basement duties the houseman will assist the housekeeping team in cleaning and preparing guest rooms and other hotel areas to meet brand and quality standards. This role position ensures that both basement and housekeeping services are delivered with efficiency discretion and a high standard of cleanliness contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Sweep mop and wash the basement floors ramps and walkways.
- Remove dust oil stains and spills from parking surfaces.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Clean walls corners staircases and entrance / exit points in the basement.
- Ensure proper ventilation and report any unusual odours leaks or hazards.
- Use cleaning equipment (e.g. floor scrubbers pressure washers blowers)
- Ensure all housekeeping facilities including but not limited guest rooms public areas food and beverage outlets minibar laundry and specified back of house areas are cleaned according to departmental standards
- Assist the Housekeepers through supplying rooms with clean linen towels and room supplies collect dirty laundry and deliver other relevant requested items
- Perform rotation cleaning duties as required.
- Ensure proper labelling and handling of guest laundry staff uniforms and special items
Qualifications :
Knowledge and Experience
Completed Grade 12 educationKnowledge of cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning chemicals.Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g. pressure washer vacuum floor scrubber).Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.Physical stamina and ability to work in dusty or damp environments.Reliability punctuality and ability to work independently.Familiarity with sorting inspecting and processing linen and coordinating with external laundry vendors.Strong physical staminastanding for extended periods frequent lifting (e.g. linen carts) and assisting with housekeeping tasks.Excellent attention to detailidentifying stains damage or inconsistencies in linen and supplies.Ability to effectively communicate with others in English
