Overview

Are you an experienced network engineer who’s ready to take the lead in designing and maintaining high-performance, secure networks—all from a remote workspace? Join our dynamic IT team, supporting clients across the U.S. from home.

As our Level 2 Network Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in delivering robust, secure, and scalable network solutions. You’ll work directly with cutting-edge tools, handle advanced configurations, and lead key infrastructure projects—all while ensuring the stability, speed, and security of our clients’ operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Implement Enterprise Networks

Build and manage advanced LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks.

  • Configure routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Work with Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking, VLANs, and routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
  • Manage Firewalls and Network Security
  • Set up and troubleshoot firewalls including Meraki, SonicWall, and Palo Alto.

  • Configure secure access systems and VPNs.
  • Maintain intrusion prevention systems that meet the highest security standards.
  • Optimize and Troubleshoot Network Performance
  • Identify and resolve complex network issues using tools like SolarWinds, NetFlow, and Wireshark.

  • Provide Level 2 escalation support for network incidents.
  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance.
  • Lead Infrastructure Projects and Vendor Coordination
  • Drive project success through planning, execution, and vendor collaboration.

  • Oversee upgrades, migrations, and the integration of new solutions.
  • Build strong partnerships with service providers to enhance reliability.
  • Maintain Documentation and Process Integrity
  • Develop clear and thorough documentation for all network operations.

  • Manage change processes to support rapid recovery and consistent operations.
  • What You Bring

  • Experience : 5+ years in network engineering with a focus on enterprise networks and firewalls.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and firewall platforms such as Meraki, SonicWall, and Palo Alto.
  • Security Focus : Solid grasp of network security protocols, including NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Certifications : CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, or similar certifications are a strong plus.
  • Cloud Knowledge : Experience with Azure or AWS-based networking and hybrid infrastructures is desirable.
  • Tools Mastery : Familiarity with performance tuning, Wireshark, NetFlow, SolarWinds, and security tools like Proofpoint.
  • Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
