Overview
Based in Stellenbosch, the Finance Manager will oversee the complete financial management of Calling Education NPC. Our non-profit organisation operates an expanding network of independent high schools in South Africa, serving over 600 learners across three campuses, with a vision to grow the network to deliver maximum impact in low-income education. This is a dynamic opportunity to apply financial skills and leadership to the educational sector.
Key responsibilities include :
- Financial Control : Oversee the daily bookkeeping and accounting function, ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, oversee balance sheet and bank reconciliations, maintain the fixed asset register, and strengthen financial processes, systems, and internal controls.
- Financial Planning & Analysis : Manage budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and reporting to the Board of Directors and educational departments.
- Leadership & Strategy : Manage the accounting and admin teams, develop and implement financial policies, and build relationships with the CEO and external stakeholders.
- Compliance & Governance : Manage the annual audit, oversee financial statement compilation, and serve as an ex officio member of the Board of Directors.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (minimum).Professional accounting designation with SAIPA, CIMA, or SAICA is required.3+ years of experience in a financial management role.Strong analytical, communication, and IT skills; experience with an ERP system is highly advantageous.Genuine enthusiasm for our vision and willingness to support the school’s Christian ethos .Previous experience in the education sector is desirable.Seniority level
