Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a meticulous and driven Assistant Financial Manager to join their team in Cape Town.

You will be responsible for the integrity of their financial operations, from overseeing daily bookkeeping to high-level strategic forecasting.
You will act as a bridge between operational data and strategic decision-making, ensuring that the client remains financially robust and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: Prepare accurate financial statements, manage budgets, and lead the audit process to ensure full compliance with South African financial regulations.
Management & Mentorship: Directly oversee the Bookkeeper, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and deadlines are strictly met.
Strategic Analysis: Conduct deep-dive financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting to support senior management in long-term strategic planning.
Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day financial operations, identifying areas for cost-saving and efficiency within the hospitality context.
Requirements
Experience: 5–10 years of progressive experience in finance, previous experience as an Assistant Financial Manager within the Hospitality/Hotel industry would be preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in accounting software. Specific experience with Xero, Dext, and Payspace is highly advantageous.
Analytical Rigor: Exceptional skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgetary control.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership potential, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ambition: A clear career goal to progress into a Financial Manager role.
