Basic Pharmacist Assistant

Our client, a leading compounding pharmacy in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is seeking a motivated and reliable Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join their team.

About the Role :

As a Basic Pharmacist Assistant, you will support the pharmacy team in daily operations, including prescription handling, patient support, and administrative tasks, while ensuring compliance with Pharmacy Law and Good Pharmacy Practice.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with receiving and processing prescriptions
• Prepare and package medication orders under supervision
• Provide guidance to patients on proper medication use as instructed
• Answer phones and manage patient and colleague queries
• Support stock management, record-keeping, and inventory control
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to a positive team culture
• Attend training sessions to update product knowledge
• Perform any other duties as required by the Line Manager or Managing Director

Minimum Requirements :

• Pharmacist Assistant qualification (basic)
• Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Working Hours :

• Monday Friday, 08 : 30 17 : 00

Remuneration :

• Basic Salary : R12,000 R15,000 per month
• Benefits : Provident Fund, Gap Cover
