Job description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have 15-20 years of experience in the fruit industry (preferably apples, kiwis, pears, and oranges sourced around the world through our subsidiaries).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of global fruit procurement and export processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Strong knowledge of English.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations effectively

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee operations across overseas group companies, ensuring smooth procurement and dispatch.
  • Distribute work among junior staff everywhere, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Forecast HR needs, submit completed hiring proposals, and oversee junior staff performance.
  • Sourcing & Sales Targets

  • Meet sourcing targets for apples, pears, citrus, and kiwis.
  • Develop and propose global sales plans to achieve export sales targets.
  • Pack House & Storage Management

  • Ensure availability of leased technically top-class pack houses and storage spaces.
  • Secure competitive contracts with vendors & service providers before the commencement of season.
  • Coordination & Quality Control

  • Coordinate sourcing, packing, and quality control across global locations.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, packing, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Marketing & Market Development

  • Oversee marketing efforts and develop new export markets.
  • Promote sourcing model to grow relationships with growers.
  • End-to-End Management

  • Manage procurement to shipping process, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Ensure commitments with growers are documented and confirmed.
  • Emergency & Critical Situations Management

  • Be accessible to handle emergencies and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain emergency contacts for shipping and logistics.
  • Strategic Management

  • Develop strategies to optimize grower negotiations and sourcing model implementation.
  • Ensure competitive pricing and improve growers cash flow.
  • Financial & Operational Reporting

  • Drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and financial transparency.
  • Monitor reconciliation of raw materials and packing materials.
  • Business Plan & Policy Implementation

  • Lead business plan execution and ensure policy compliance.
  • Implement legal, statutory, ERP and regulatory requirements.
  • Manpower & Performance Monitoring

  • Ensure adequate staffing per organizational needs.
  • Monitor and control performance to meet objectives.
  • Safe Storage & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure safe storage & handling of fruit throughout the Cold Supply Chain to minimize quality loss.
  • Manage contracts with growers and ensure proper picking times.
