Overview

Position : Account Manager - at Somewhere

Location : Remote (South Africa); Work Hours : 9am - 5pm EST; Pay Range : $2000 - $2500 USD / month (varies by skill and experience)

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a book of business comprising our large customers in the food industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment, including supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding evolving requirements and providing responsive support.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets; regularly report on sales performance and market insights.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of food ingredients; stay updated with market trends, regulatory requirements, and customer demands to optimize offerings and drive growth.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers about order status, new product releases, and potential issues; uphold transparency and open communication.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, providing efficient solutions and creative troubleshooting when needed to maintain loyalty.

Minimum Requirements

  • Language : Excellent English communication skills.
  • Education : Bachelor's Degree (ideally).
  • Experience : 3+ years in related roles; preferably in the food industry (ingredients, manufacturing, or supply).
  • Industry : Food industry experience is required.
  • Degree in Food Engineering, Food Technology, or related field (required).
  • Strong background in account management and client relationship building.
  • Good understanding of food ingredients, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams (supply chain, logistics, QA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets; organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounts.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools for account management and reporting.
