Responsibilities

Strategic financial leadership including development and implementation of corporate / treasury strategy aligned with group objectives.
Capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, financial structuring, valuations, and investor relations.
Management of capital allocation, liquidity, and balance sheet optimization; lead and mentor finance teams.
End-to-end M&A transactions, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, and post-merger integration.
Regulatory compliance oversight (FSCA, SARB, JSE, Companies Act) and governance; ensure IFRS / GAAP reporting accuracy and financial controls.
Funding and liquidity management including facility negotiations, capital adequacy, ALM, and risk management.
Industry / market analysis, performance measurement, and reporting to executives and boards.
Stakeholder management with banks, financial institutions, regulators, and internal executives.
People management : recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing teams; foster accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; postgraduate degree (CA(SA), CIMA, MBA, Actuarial Science, Engineering) preferred.

5+ years in financial management and 5+ years in banking / finance at management level; senior leadership experience in M&A, fundraising, and financial structuring.

Knowledge of African financial markets, corporate governance, regulatory environments; experience with listed entities and note programs.

Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial acumen; leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Advanced valuation, deal structuring, capital markets expertise; ability to drive strategic transactions.

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python).

Understanding of banking regulation, Basel Capital standards, and corporate controls.

Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

Ability to work under pressure, think creatively, and lead high-performance teams.
