Responsibilities

  • Strategic financial leadership including development and implementation of corporate / treasury strategy aligned with group objectives.
  • Capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, financial structuring, valuations, and investor relations.
  • Management of capital allocation, liquidity, and balance sheet optimization; lead and mentor finance teams.
  • End-to-end M&A transactions, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, and post-merger integration.
  • Regulatory compliance oversight (FSCA, SARB, JSE, Companies Act) and governance; ensure IFRS / GAAP reporting accuracy and financial controls.
  • Funding and liquidity management including facility negotiations, capital adequacy, ALM, and risk management.
  • Industry / market analysis, performance measurement, and reporting to executives and boards.
  • Stakeholder management with banks, financial institutions, regulators, and internal executives.
  • People management : recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing teams; foster accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; postgraduate degree (CA(SA), CIMA, MBA, Actuarial Science, Engineering) preferred.
  • 5+ years in financial management and 5+ years in banking / finance at management level; senior leadership experience in M&A, fundraising, and financial structuring.
  • Knowledge of African financial markets, corporate governance, regulatory environments; experience with listed entities and note programs.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial acumen; leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced valuation, deal structuring, capital markets expertise; ability to drive strategic transactions.
  • Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python).
  • Understanding of banking regulation, Basel Capital standards, and corporate controls.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, think creatively, and lead high-performance teams.
