HEAD CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGER - MIDLANDS

POSITION INFO :

RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced HEAD CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGER for a large growing concern, position based in the Midlands area, KwaZulu-Natal.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12.

Relevant Culinary qualification or equivalent experience.

Valid driver’s license / own reliable vehicle.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).

4+ yrs working experience in a supervisory role within a food services environment.

Knowledge of grilling, baking and batch cooking is essential.

Supervisory management.

Manage a busy kitchen which involves; running every day service, running a team of 16 cooks, keeping the level of food produced at a high and consistence standard.

Food costing / costing of dishes and purchasing.

Stock taking and ordering.

Understand the importance of the hygiene in the kitchen and why it needs to be kept clean.

Management of rosters – such as bin duty, cleaning duty, extra shifts will also fall under the Head Chef.

Person must have a passion for food, a team player and visionary.

Willing to bring new ideas to the table and be inspired to produce new dishes.
