POSITION INFO : Seeking the skills of a Workshop Supervisor.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS :

  • Grade 12
  • Forklift experience is essential.
  • Qualified Mechanical Technician with 5+ years foreman / supervisory level experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety principles and procedures
  • Basic computer literacy skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for the overall management of parts; ordering, allocation and related
  • Supervising all workshop functions and workflow
  • Must have a mechanical background to solve technical repairs
  • Lead, guide and grow the workshop team
  • Monitoring stock control records
  • Control and allocating the flow of work through the workshop
  • Ensuring jobs are completed in a timeous manner and of a high standard
  • Ensuring workshop housekeeping and operating practices are of a high standard
  • Reinforcing correct safety behaviors, reporting all hazards and incidents
  • Monitoring breakdowns and following up on progress
  • Oversee ordering of all parts and consumables
  • Handle all mechanical queries
  • Providing workshop reports weekly to management
  • Must understand how budgets work
