Job Purpose
The Trainer reports directly to the Manager : Regulatory Training, and is responsible for facilitating all formal and on-the-job regulatory training for the Airline and external clients and will ensure training is in accordance with the regulatory standards.To this extent, the Trainer conducts training, accredited assessment and evaluations in line with legislative and company requirements. Furthermore, the role is required to perform related tasks including research and curriculum development.Lastly, as part of the Operations team, the role will be required to support the optimization of the Aviation Training function by participating in improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.Principal Accountabilities
Demonstrates an understanding of the Aviation Training strategy and plan relevant to own work outputsImplements strategy within own area of responsibilityProvides recommendations to support the implementation of the Regulatory Training portfolioContributes to the budget management and containment of costsApplies cost saving initiatives continuouslyProvides recommendations on profitabilityDeliver on initiatives in alignment with business requirements within the budget specifically aligned to Aviation Training initiativesEnsure all costs are responsibly managed in own sphere of influence (telephone costs, printing costs, leave management etc.)Engage in trend analysis to identify future needs, services required, market offering and available new products and engage in discussions about integration and adoption of these into strategies and plans with businessOversees the correct application of processes and systems in area of responsibilityUtilises resources in area of responsibility / own area of work in a time and cost effective mannerUtilises technology to enhance internal and external customer expectations and implement new technology, systems and or proceduresExecutes work outputs according to customer requirementsAdheres to Governance and Risk Management policies, processes and systemsShare key information with internal stakeholders to assist with regular, irregular and timeous reporting requirementsParticipates in continuous optimisation programmes, projects and initiativesAssist with planning of training courses and administration thereof in accordance with training schedulePrepare for training courses according to training schedule including maintenance of all training aids, materials and equipmentDevelop training curriculum to address identified needs and close performance gapsDevelop learning materials and guides, trainer guides, visual aids and help prompts Update course material as and when required and provide recommendations for material changes / updatesConduct operations training for all divisionsConduct post course assessments as well as refreshers and ad-hoc workshopsEnsure assessment instruments are valid, authentic current and sufficientCompile model answersConduct formative and summative assessmentsPlan and conduct regular on the job assessment, performance improvement assessments and evaluation reportsDetermine competency through evaluation processes and conduct re-writesProvide constructive feedback to learners and line managementEngage in and promote assessment practicesIdentify learners requiring support pro–actively and sensitivelyProvide counselling for learners with problemsProvide specialised tutoring for those with learning difficultiesInteract with management about learner progressEnsure effective needs analysis are conductedLink performance solutions with business objectivesQualifications & Experience
A relevant 3 year Diploma at NQF level 6 and / or 4 years' experience in Regulatory Training environmentA current SACAA Cabin Safety Instructor accreditation certificateA current SACAA Cabin Designated Examiner accreditation certificateA current SACAA Dangerous Goods Group A Instructor accreditation certificate will be an advantageA current SACAA Aviation Security Instructor accreditation certificate will be an advantageCertified assessor training at NQF level 5Facilitation Qualification at NQF level 6Moderator training at NQF level 6 will be an advantageValid unendorsed manual driver’s license is essentialKnowledge and Skills
