General Reinsurance, Cape Town Branch (a subsidiary of General Reinsurance AG) is offering an opportunity for a Segment Pricing Actuary (Australia & NZ) in our Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Terms of Trade / Pricing Bases for Australia and New Zealand
  • Manage in-force treaties and pricing reviews on existing business
  • Support tenders from existing and new clients
  • Assess and manage risk exposure

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified actuary with a minimum of 5 years experience
  • Experience in pricing of retail business
  • Prepared to work across multiple time zones
  • Highly collaborative in working style & approach
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills to summarise complex information
  • Exposure to mortality and morbidity experience studies
  • Reinsurance pricing experience would be an advantage
  • Experience of Australian and / or New Zealand life insurance an advantage
  • Actuarial modelling skills (GGY Axis an advantage)
  • Coding skills in VBA, SQL, R or other statistical coding environments
  • An interest in analytics and modelling mortality / morbidity experience
