A forward-thinking independent power producer committed to advancing clean energy generation across Africa. Their expanding operational portfolio includes multiple solar and hydro assets , with additional projects under development. They combine technical excellence, financial discipline, and a strong sustainability ethos to deliver long-term energy impact across emerging markets.

The Role

As a (Junior) Asset Performance Manager , you’ll play a key role in optimising the operational performance of the company’s renewable energy assets.

You’ll monitor, analyse, and report on plant generation and reliability, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

This position offers exposure to both the technical and commercial sides of renewable energy operations, with opportunities for growth within a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse performance data from solar and hydropower plants to identify trends and performance deviations.
  • Prepare accurate performance and reliability reports (weekly, monthly, annual) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering and O&M teams to conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and implement corrective measures.
  • Track performance metrics against contractual obligations (PPA, O&M, EPC) and warranty conditions.
  • Support process improvement and reliability enhancement initiatives across the asset base.
  • Assist with risk identification and mitigation planning for operational sites.
  • Maintain up-to-date performance documentation and contribute to management and board reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in renewable energy operations, asset management, or performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience handling and interpreting operational data.
  • Understanding of solar PV or hydropower technologies and associated O&M principles.
  • Familiarity with EPC, O&M, and PPA frameworks advantageous.
  • Experience with performance tracking systems or dashboards preferred.
  • Independent, reliable, and eager to grow in a fast-paced renewable energy environment.
