Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Marine Structural to support the design and assessment of coastal and offshore infrastructure, including wharves, jetties, caissons, breakwaters, and floating structures.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design of marine infrastructure using relevant codes (BS, Eurocode, API, PIANC)
- Perform static and dynamic structural analysis, including wave and berthing impact loads
- Evaluate corrosion protection, fatigue performance, and structural detailing for marine environments
- Coordinate with geotechnical engineers on foundation design (piles, caissons, gravity structures)
- Prepare design reports, specifications, and construction documentation
- Support tendering, fabrication review, and site construction queries
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for marine structural designs
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex marine projects
- Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure designs meet sustainability requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for marine structures
- Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in marine structural engineering
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local and international maritime standards
- Develop and maintain best practice guidelines for marine structural engineering within the organization
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations
- Oversee the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in marine structural design projects
Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience post obtaining qualificationRegistered with ECSA as Pr.Eng. for at least 3 yearsDegree in Civil Engineering (Structural), preferably M.Eng or MSc.EngAdditional Information
