Overview

L’Avenir is a leading Stellenbosch winery that specialises in South Africa’s emblematic varietals such as Pinotage and Chenin Blanc. Situated just outside Stellenbosch on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, the estate is right in the heart of South Africa’s most revered wine appellation. Owned by the French leader of terroir wines, AdVini, L’Avenir produces authentic South African wines, with a touch of French flair.

We are looking for an Assistant Winemaker to join our team!

Main responsibilities

Managing Operations of the bottling and labelling facility
Manage warehouse facilities
Managing supplier relationships and purchasing of dry goods for estate wine
Administrative function
Self-development

Qualifications and experience

3-5 years’ experience in a winemaking facility

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive staff to achieve desired outputs

Good understanding of winemaking / operational procedures of bottling

Passion for wine and continuous learning

Strong attention to detail and the ability to do problem solving under pressure

Willingness to work overtime

Own reliable transport
