Job description

Finance Manager position available in Bellville.

CA(SA) with minimum 2 years’ post article experience, preferably in the Financial Services Industry (Insurance), required for the financial management of the Finance Department of an Insurance Company based in Bellville.

Minimum requirements :

  • Accounting Degree essential
  • CA(SA) qualified
  • Minimum 2 years’ post article experience required, preferably in the Financial Services Industry
  • Strong Excel skills essential as well as exposure to different accounting packages (Great Plains, SAP, Accpac)

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Financial Management of the Finance Department
  • Liaise with Accountants responsible for the Accounting function
  • Assist with any accounting issues
  • Review monthly processing
  • Review reconciliations
  • Compile management reports and analysis
  • Cashflow and investment management
  • Approving payment and collections
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Ensure control accounts, balance sheets and income statements are reconciled monthly
  • VAT and Income Tax calculations and returns
  • Statutory and regulatory returns
  • Compile Annual Financial Statements
  • Assist Regional Managers with financial information
  • Liaise with internal and external Auditors
  • Resolve reconciling and outstanding items on balance sheet reconciliations
  • Systems, processes and internal control improvements
