Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy Division

Location : Cape Town

Availability : ASAP

Responsibilities

• Lead LV and MV systems engineering, including conceptual and detailed design and development of electrical networks.
• Design, specify, and execute electrical systems for industrial and renewable energy plants.
• Design LV & MV Motor Control Centres, plant reticulation, and DC plant and battery systems.
• Develop and implement renewable energy and protection systems.
• Specify electrical switchgear, motor protection equipment, and related components.
• Design cable networks, earthing, lightning protection, lighting, and small power systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with the South African Grid Code and relevant SANS / IEC standards.
• Manage electrical interfaces and integration with other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in procurement and installation contracts — including tender evaluation, documentation, and project cost estimation (BOQs and scope of work).
• Provide support during fabrication, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Contribute to tender compilation and technical proposal preparation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering personnel to ensure technical excellence and professional development.
