The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for the direct and / or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and / or indirect supervision of the Doctor whose practice the role is in.
The Enrolled Nurse will handle assessment and care needs of patients, assist Doctors during operations, and maintain a sterile operating room environment.

- Practice patient care within their Scope of Practice and assume full responsibility for these activities.
- Prepare the theatre, replenish stock, and manage instruments and supplies for procedures.
- Contribute to holistic patient care.
- Maintain aseptic techniques when opening packs and consumables.
- Help control costs through the safe and economical use of supplies and equipment.
- Handle equipment, instruments, stock, and medication safely and competently.
- Implement effective risk prevention and management, especially during patient positioning and transfers.
- Communicate effectively with patients about their care.
- Assist the anesthetist during induction of anesthesia.
- Perform procedures according to hospital standards.
- Develop and follow appropriate nursing care plans for all patients.
- Communicate any changes in patient health status with healthcare practitioners.
- Ensure compliance with documentation policies.
- Record and sign specimen registers.
- Audit health records regularly to ensure compliance.
- Manage stock control, charges, and credits appropriately.
- Maintain a therapeutic, clean, and safe environment free from medico-legal hazards.
- Adhere to safety regulations in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.
- Take responsibility for personal nursing actions and professional conduct.

Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.Enrolled Nurse qualification.Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).Minimum of 5 years of experience as an enrolled nurse assistant.Post-operative nursing experience is essential.Floor nursing and anesthetic experience are essential.Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety.Knowledge of Infection Control & Prevention.Ability to anticipate the needs of the multidisciplinary team during surgical procedures.Problem-solving, analytical, and judgment skills.Resilience and adaptability.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Customer responsiveness.Flexibility in working hours to support daily operations.Proactive self-starter with innovative thinking.Proficiency in Excel is advantageous.Ability to work independently and proactively.Solution-oriented mindset.Assist Doctors in theatre.Effective problem solver.Self-motivated.Benefits
