Role Purpose :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI and Data Analytics Specialist with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI, a solid understanding of SQL or PostgreSQL, and a proactive mindset. As part of our team, you will work collaboratively to design, develop, and implement data solutions that drive business insights and decision-making.

Experience and Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI development.

Proficiency in SQL or PostgreSQL for data manipulation and analysis.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication skills to effectively present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals.

A proactive mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and suggest improvements.

Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

Knowledge of database management systems and data warehousing concepts.

Familiarity with other BI tools or data visualization platforms.

Experience in Agile or Scrum project methodologies.

Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant field.

Knowledge of the farming industry would be advantageous but not required.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide actionable business insights.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI for analysis.

Write and optimize SQL / PostgreSQL queries for data extraction, aggregation, and transformation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Maintain and optimize existing Power BI reports and datasets for performance and scalability.

Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all reports and dashboards.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within reporting workflows.

Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and data visualization technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient in Afrikaans and English.
