Salary : R17,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef for a luxury safari lodge located in the Cape Winelands District. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up and take on more responsibility within a high-end culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and overall culinary leadership.
Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
Oversee kitchen staff during service and support with training and development.
Ensure proper stock rotation, ordering, and cost control.
Uphold hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness in line with health regulations.
Contribute to menu planning and seasonal adjustments.
Support in managing dietary requirements and special requests.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie within a luxury lodge, hotel, or fine-dining establishment.
Strong culinary skills with a passion for high-quality, sustainably-focused cuisine.
Ability to lead a small team and work under pressure during peak service times.
Good understanding of kitchen administration, stock control, and cost management.
A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Working Conditions
Live-out role with the option to live in at a discounted rate.
