About the role :

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Hydrologist in our accomplished water resources management team in Cape Town or Tshwane. Are you a motivated professional with the ability to inspire others, display strong leadership capabilities and are driven to make an impact for our clients, the communities we serve and the environment, then this role may be for you.

Role Responsibilities

Based on your diverse professional experience and technical knowledge your responsibilities will a combination of the following across various geographies :

• Lead hydrological studies including watershed modelling, floodplain mapping, and water balance assessments.
• Develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., WEAP, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWAT, MIKE HYDRO Basin).
• Analyze precipitation, streamflow, groundwater, and climate data to support water resource planning.
• Provide expert input on flood risk, stormwater management, and drought mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers, ecologists, planners, and government agencies on multidisciplinary projects.
• Mentor junior hydrologists and review technical work for accuracy and quality.
• Support stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
• Stay current with emerging trends in hydrology, climate science, and water policy.
