Intro

Worley is seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Senior Manager : Business Development to join our team in continuing to grow our Resources Sector across Sub‑Saharan Africa and the broader African continent .

Purpose of the role

The role will focus on building strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and continuing to develop existing ones, leveraging Worley’s global expertise and local capabilities to deliver value in line with Worley’s growth agenda.

Championing our Business Development team, you will be responsible for

  • In support of the Resources sector growth ambitions, form an integral part of the resources sector sales team across the Region.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow Worley’s presence in the Resources sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, as well as investors and government stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities across the Resources sector project development lifecycle, including but not limited to the continuum from exploration, mining, mineral processing, downstream processing, as well as the battery active materials segment.
  • Lead proposal development and commercial negotiations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the Resources Sector.
  • Support cross‑sector collaboration to position Worley in integrated energy, water, and infrastructure projects associated with the Resources Sector.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, with strong exposure to the Resources Sector (Mining, Minerals & Metals) across the globe and in particular the Sub‑Saharan Africa and Southern Africa.
  • Proven track record of winning and delivering large‑scale projects or framework agreements.
  • Strong client network and understanding of the African resources sector ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
