Introduction

Responsible for providing pharmaceutical care services (within scope of practice) and performing day-to-day dispensary administration according to company's Standard Operating Plans (SOPs). The focus is on the administration of scripts to provide general dispensing duties with an emphasis on patient satisfaction.

Job Objectives :

  • Interact with customers professionally and maintain strict confidentiality within SOP and agreed timelines.
  • Administer scripts and handle claiming / capturing procedures accurately.
  • Handle all profiles with accuracy and completeness.
  • Interact with healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Follow up on and resolve queries.

Duties :

  • Communicate with customers via telephone or other means regarding medication and healthcare services.
  • Accurately capture scripts received at the Central Pharmacy centre.
  • Handle queries regarding prescriptions.
  • Manage patient profiles.
  • Assist with chronic authorizations.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as per operational requirements.

    • Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of SAPC and relevant legal requirements.
  • Understanding of the chronic authorization process and procedures.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ethical working practices and compliance.

    • Skills :

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bilingual abilities, with English as a requirement.
  • Ability to work with patients and adapt to departmental duties.
  • Use initiative to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Adaptability, positive attitude, and resilience under pressure.
  • Adherence to principles and values.
  • Ability to work well with people and deliver results.

    • Experience :

    Minimum 1 year in the role of Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic.

    Education :

    Further Education and Training Certificate in Pharmacist Assistance (Essential).
