Our client is embarking on a new power station project in eSwatini and requires a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of this multi-disciplinary, turnkey engineering project. The role demands strong technical leadership, extensive project delivery experience across Africa, and proven capability working with FIDIC Silver Book contracts. Exposure to Cogen or similar energy-generation projects will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for a multi-disciplinary turnkey power station project, from planning through commissioning.
- Manage engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across all disciplines.
- Oversee and administer FIDIC Silver Book contract requirements, ensuring full compliance and effective contract management.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and project reporting structures.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards throughout project execution.
- Drive project governance, including change control, claims management, and performance monitoring.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making support on engineering and project delivery issues.
- Facilitate smooth communication and alignment across multi-cultural and cross-functional teams.
- Manage on-siCte project teams and ensure overall project delivery to scope, cost, quality, and timeline.
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).10+ years’ experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary turnkey EPC or EPCM projects.Proven experience working as a Project Manager / Engineer under FIDIC Silver Book conditions.Demonstrated success delivering complex power generation, industrial plant, or major infrastructure projects.Experience working in Africa (preferred).Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in challenging environments with diverse teams.Willingness to travel and be site-based in eSwatini as required.Preferred Experience
Cogen (co-generation) project exposure.Previous experience in energy, utilities, or power station construction.Strong commercial, contractual, and project risk management capability.Experience working with international contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.Competencies
