SATIC - Data Migration Consultant

Job Summary

PwC Careers Africa is looking for a Data Migration Consultant to join the South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC). The role focuses on organising and maintaining data to enable accuracy and accessibility for effective decision‑making. Responsibilities include implementing data quality control measures, performing data cleansing and validation, monitoring data integrity, and managing data operations such as acquisition, transformation and loading. The role involves working with a variety of clients and team members, adapting to diverse challenges, and consistently delivering high‑quality work that drives client value.

  • Identify migration requirements, execute migration cycles, ensure a consistent migration approach and collaborate with clients to resolve data issues.
  • Provide practical data and technology expertise to design robust migration solutions and support maintenance of the PwC Data Migration Suite.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various competencies and regions within the Consulting practice to deliver high‑value solutions for clients, including large‑scale transformation programs.
  • Stay current with trends in data and technology, particularly AI, to drive innovation and enhance client impact.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, business, data, or technology.
  • 1‑3 years of experience in technology and data programmes, e.g., ERP data migrations.
  • Experience and / or certifications in Python and SQL.
  • Exposure to ERP / CRM / HR systems such as Sage, Workday, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce.
  • Excellent organisational skills, prioritisation, resilience, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven IT skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide when required.
  • Desirable Skills

  • Technical skills in data migrations, data governance, data script development, and ERP / CRM / HR systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and deployment tools.
  • Experience with Alteryx and / or Informatica.
  • Experience managing containerised applications (FastAPI, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of best practices in software development and team collaboration.
  • Experience using GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code reviews.
  • Hands‑on experience with GenAI for software development.
  • Experience working with finance systems.
