Job description

Bookkeeper

Minimum 5 years experience in a bookkeeping or accounting position.

Bookkeeping / Accounting qualification is a prerequisite.

SAGE Business Cloud Accounting software experience an advantage.

Bookkeeping responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Creating Invoices / Pro Forma invoices on Sage
  • Review and reconcile Supplier transactions
  • Capture Supplier Invoices
  • Capture weekly petty cash in the relevant cash book
  • Allocate the bank cash book daily (bank feed active) and reconcile monthly
  • Match payments received to customer invoices where applicable
  • Match payments made to supplier invoices or allocate to ad hoc expenses
  • Complete and submit weekly Payments List to Management for payment
  • Review month end transactions (with external Tax Accountant)
  • Reconcile income and expenses for VAT (with external Tax Accountant)
  • Update various excel spreadsheets for Management on an ongoing basis
  • Implement changes to Sage and Management Reports when necessary
  • Outgoing Forex payments.
  • Incoming foreign payments clearing
  • Updating and maintaining files and records of financial transactions
  • Year End Closing journals (with external Tax Accountant)
  • Other tasks may be required from Management from time to time.
  • Qualification

    Bcom Accounting Degree / Bookkeeping tertiary
