Our client based in Sandton Johannesburg, is seeking a New Business Officer to join their team. The purpose of the job is to win profitable business in line with individual targets set by the Head of Business Development. To promote the brands of the client and their target audience and to develop a strategic pipeline of business leads to assist with the future growth of the Company.

Main Outputs :

  • Conduct sales in line with the Company's Code of Business Conduct
  • Self-source and convert business leads into trading accounts
  • Track leads and document interactions with prospects through our CRM Database
  • Fully understand and be able to communicate clearly the client’s USP’s both internally and externally
  • Listen, converse and make business recommendations in a professional manner with potential clients
  • Prepare and present business documents, including presentations both internally and externally
  • Establish and develop strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate good business acumen especially in the area of Margin
  • Assist the Head of Business Development (Areal) in achieving short, medium and long term goals for the client
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Department with corrective action, when required
  • Attend regular monthly product presentations and Finance & Administration and Operations meeting when requested to
  • Establish and develop strong relationships with all company departments
  • Report competitor and client activities to the Head of Business Development (Area) on an on-going basis

Knowledge and skills :

Grade 12

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Sales related position
  • An excellent command on the English language
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Objections handling
  • The ability to close a deal
  • Must possess a great deal of stamina to maintain frequent evening and weekend work in the process of building strong relationships with our customers
  • Must be able to work as part of a team with a positive attitude to external and internal forces
  • Normal office / shift hours apply, but the role may require some after-hour work at times, due to operational requirements
  • Attend meetings / functions and any other events as required
  • Regional and overseas travel will be required
