Financial Planning & Strategy

Architect annual budgets and rolling forecasts for liquor operations.

Lead financial modelling for new product launches and market expansion initiatives.

Drive profitability analysis by brand, channel, and geographic segments.

Develop pricing strategies that optimize margins while maintaining market competitiveness.

Conduct investment appraisals for brewing capacity, distribution infrastructure, and technology.

Prepare executive dashboards providing real-time financial performance insights.

Management Accounting & Performance

Manage month-end processes ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Analyse cost structures across brewing, packaging, and distribution operations.

Monitor working capital optimization and cash flow management.

Conduct variance analysis identifying performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

Oversee inventory management for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

Calculate product costing using activity-based costing methodologies.

Support operational decisions through detailed financial analysis and recommendations.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure IFRS compliance and statutory reporting requirements.

Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with audit firms.

Maintain tax compliance including VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax.

Manage regulatory reporting to SARS, and industry bodies.

Lead risk assessment processes and internal control frameworks.

Oversee insurance programs and claims management.

Ensure B-BBEE compliance reporting and transformation initiatives.

Systems & Process Excellence

Optimize SAP S / 4HANA financial modules and reporting capabilities.

Lead system implementations and process automation initiatives.

Develop financial controls and standard operating procedures.

Manage data integrity and financial system security.

Coordinate integration of acquisitions into financial systems.

Drive digitalization of financial processes and analytics.

Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead finance team of analysts, accountants, and support staff.

Develop talent pipeline through mentoring and skills development.

Manage performance and career development planning.

Foster collaboration with operations, sales, and commercial teams.

Drive continuous improvement culture and best practice sharing.

Qualifications and competencies

Matric

Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or BCom (Accounting / Finance).

Professional Qualification CA (SA)

5+ years finance experience with 3+ years in management role.

FMCG or Beverage Industry experience (Liquor sector preferred)

SAP S / 4HANA proficiency (Finance modules essential)

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and performance analysis

Expert knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, and KPI development

Comprehensive understanding of IFRS, GAAP, tax legislation, and statutory reporting

Advanced SAP S / 4HANA, Excel (pivot tables, macros, VBA), Power BI, and financial reporting tools

Proven ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing finance teams.

Commercial awareness and ability to translate financial insights into business strategy.

Excellent relationship building with internal teams and external partners.

Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Sound judgment under pressure with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Track record of implementing process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Deep understanding of traditional beer industry dynamics and market drivers

High accuracy standards with meticulous approach to financial reporting
