Job Description
- RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized Depot Controller within the baking business unit.
- The suitable candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the depot.
- This role will be based in Kokstad and reporting to the General Manager.
- This role is a Permanent role.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Grade 12Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain ManagementSkills
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.Good numeracyGood computer literacy – especially Excel and e-mailExperience
Minimum 5 years supervisory / management experience in distribution / operations in a similar roleFMCG experienceExperience working with JDE advantageousDuties & Responsibilities
Operational Duties
Managing the day to day operations of the depotEnsure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures in terms of dispatch, cash office, logistics and salesEnsure depot adheres to food and health and safety requirementsEnsure adherence to storage and transportation legislationLogistics
Plan delivery routes to ensure optimal efficiencyLiaise with Fleet Manager to ensure company fleet is in good working condition at all timesEnsure company fleet is clean at all timesEnsure good record keeping for company fleetSales
Work with sales team to set targets and encourage sales growth in the regionEnsure excellent customer service and swift resolution of customer complaints and problemsVisit key customers and prospective new customers to increase sales volumesWork with sales team to minimize returnsWork with sales team to prevent crate losses and ensure full crate recoveryAdministration
Investigate driver shortages on cash upAdminister disciplinary action on driver cash shortages where neccessaryAssist to prepare annual budgetMonitor actual verses budgeted spend and take action when out of linePresent monthly report of Depot KPI’s and explain variancesImplement action plans to improve performance indicators.General office administration which includes filing and employee administrationPeople Management
