We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor for a 5-month contract to join the Internal Audit team for a client of ours based in the Rosebank / Sandton area.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements in accordance with the Bank’s audit methodology and professional standards.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance frameworks within various banking operations.
- Identify and evaluate risks, providing practical recommendations to mitigate identified issues.
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports for presentation to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices in internal auditing within the banking sector.
- Ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all audit activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CA(SA), or equivalent) is highly desirable.Minimum of 5 years of internal audit experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.Demonstrated experience in conducting internal audit engagements within the last 12 months.Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, and internal control frameworks.Proficiency in audit methodologies, tools, and techniques.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting audit reports.Ability to work independently and collaboratively under the direction of the Bank’s Internal Audit team.Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong ethical standards and integrity.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Please note that by submitting your personal information to Deka Minas you free-willingly issue the business consent to make use of such data for the specific purpose of securing you either permanent or temporary employment.
