Introduction
To manage and deliver defined operational processes within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) and effectively manage costs through operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of team goals through relevant scorecards as per the strategy using the INVOCOM methodology.
- Provide input and execute the business unit's 1-year operating plan, budget, and scorecard with continuous improvement in mind.
- Build, integrate, and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in line with SLAs to achieve operational excellence, e.g., Transport, Trunking, Cross-Docking, and Equipment Centre.
- Manage end-to-end process compliance (e.g., receiving, picking, dispatch, inventory) against documented process standards within the area of responsibility.
- Optimize the use of all resources and plan operational implementation of all variable assets to ensure excellence (e.g., staffing FTE plan, scanners, technology equipment, pallet jacks, reach trucks, consumables, stationery).
- Adhere to company policies and procedures in line with corporate governance principles.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate reporting and administration for transactional excellence.
- Develop and foster a high-performance culture through leadership, feedback, guidance, support, and coaching.
- Demonstrate effective leadership aligned with Woolworths Values to ensure operational scorecard delivery.
- Contribute to achieving the BU EE targets.
- Manage performance and participate in talent management, succession planning, and recognition initiatives.
- Manage employee relations in line with sound people principles and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislation (e.g., OHASA and SHE Acts).
- Maintain knowledge of logistics and distribution processes.
- Understand supply chain operations and stakeholder impact.
- Be PC literate and capable of capturing information and producing reports.
- Manage consumables and assets effectively.
- Understand process compliance and relevant legislation.
- Work across different temperature regimes, e.g., Cold Chain, Frozen areas.
- Quickly develop knowledge of suppliers and service providers, demonstrating passion for customer delivery.
- Understand the impact of one's role on service delivery to internal and external customers.
- Maintain a customer service mindset.
- Know performance management systems and employee relations procedures.
- Work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Work flexible hours as per business requirements.
Other Job Requirements
Theoretical Knowledge :
Matric / Grade 12 certificate is compulsory.A three-year Supply Chain or Operations Management degree or equivalent NQF level 6 Advanced Certificate / Diploma is compulsory.Experience :
Relevant management or supervisory training.At least 3 years of relevant Supply Chain management experience.Experience in Retail / FMCG environment is advantageous.Quality assurance background (e.g., Six Sigma) is advantageous.Additional Requirements :
