REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS (MANDATORY)
- National Senior Certificate
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years' relevant managerial experience in a Health & Safety department on Middle Management level.
- Degree in Safety Management
- Introduction to SAMTRAC SACP MP (Construction Health & Safety Officer – Good Standing) SAMTRAC
- Intensive knowledge of Hazard Identification and Risk ISO
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
- Excellent leadership & interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote Occupational Health & Safety Programs in the workplace.Conduct Risk Assessments and enforce preventative measures.Advise and assist the employer in complying with the provisions of the relevant HSE Standards.Record and investigate incidents / accidents to determine causes.Responsible for full HSE function across the organization.Implementing and improving the health & safety plans and programs in the workplace.Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are implemented and adhered to.Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety Legislation.Develop, implement and monitor regular and sufficient HSE training across the organization.Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.Investigate workplace accidents and injuries and refer them to the authorities.Reporting on HSE-related activities.Ensure that all company employees meet the relevant HSE requirements.Provide HSE training where required.Conduct VFL's and PTO's.Conduct WRAC's and JRA's.Assist the Risk Committee with monitoring the organization's critical HSE risks.Setting organizational Health & Safety direction.Facilitate the enforcement of Health & Safety Procedures in terms of training & communication structures.Conduct regular HSE Audits to ensure compliance across the organization.HSE Report compilation.Maintain record of company-wide HSE statistics.Work in conjunction with Human Resources to facilitate, investigation and report all injuries on duty.Manage and control all site medicals.Manage all HSE personnel with the organization.Assignment of HSE related work to the HSE personnel within the organization.Management & control of company-wide PPE (orders, quotations, purchases, management, stock control, distribution, etc.)Maintain company-wide HSE training register and manage & control all HSE trainings within the organization.Training & development of HSE personnel.Drafting, implementation and update of all Legal Registers.CORE COMPETENCIES
